Scan License

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Every purchase on Ingenue grants a license to a scan on these standard terms, together with the specific scope shown on the listing at the time of purchase. This page summarizes that license; it works alongside our Terms of Service.

What a license grants

When a buyer licenses a scan, the scanner (the person whose face it is) grants the buyer a limited, non-transferable license to use the scan asset — the mesh, texture, and blendshapes — only within the categories, exclusions, and term shown on the listing. The license is non-exclusive unless the listing states otherwise.

Permitted uses

Buyers may use a licensed scan only for the buyer categories the scanner enabled (for example: indie/research, commercial/advertising, or games/VFX), and only within any geographic or industry limits shown on the listing.

Prohibited uses

No license ever permits:

No resale or sublicensing

A buyer may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, or transfer a scan or the license to anyone else unless the listing expressly allows it.

Term and revocation

Each license runs for the term shown on the listing. A scanner may pull a listing at any time, which stops new sales; licenses already granted continue for their term. A license may be revoked early if the buyer breaches these terms — for example, by using the scan outside its permitted scope or for a prohibited use.

Identity and authenticity

Every scan is bound to a verified, real person who consented to license their own likeness. Buyers receive a scan that the scanner is authorized to license.
